I scored some old bookcases from the Barnes and Noble down the street that was closing down. They were selling literally everything, even light bulbs! They were scratched and dented and had little pieces of scotch tape all over them, but I thought they were worth the $20 each I payed for them. A lot of sanding and painting later, they look pretty awesome.
I sanded the whole thing with three grades of sandpaper. My arm was really tired after that. Then, I coated the outside with polyurethane. I painted the inside and the edge with a light gray.

The red panel above them is the top of my filing cabinet from work. It’s now a colorful magnet board.
